Standard NFC or secure NFC
for authentication?

Standard NFC can provide convenient item identification and service access. Authentication requires a security architecture that can verify more than a readable identifier.

STANDARD NFC

A static identifier or URL can connect an item to information, but may be copied or replayed if no further controls are present.

SECURE NFC

Cryptographic tags can generate verifiable data for each interaction when correctly configured and supported by a trusted verification service.

SYSTEM CONTROL

Component selection alone is not enough: issuance, item association, keys, backend checks and exception handling determine the effective assurance.
